What you get

  • Backlog, This week, Doing (WIP limit 2), and Done
  • Example cards with labels and priorities for home, health, and learning
  • Search and filters to focus on one kind of task

What it does not do

  • No reminders, notifications, or calendar sync
  • No recurring tasks
  • Boards on your phone and computer are separate unless you move one with a backup file

What is in the template

  • Backlog — ideas and tasks you have not scheduled. Example: Plan weekend (label Home).
  • This week — tasks you have chosen for the next seven days. Example: Book appointment (label Health, high priority).
  • Doing — what you are working on now, limited to 2 cards. Example: Read chapter (label Learning).
  • Done — finished work for this week. It starts empty.

How to use it each week

  1. Select Use this template to create your own copy, then rename it (for example, “Week of May 4”).
  2. Empty your head into Backlog: add a card for each task you can think of. Titles can be short.
  3. Pick a realistic handful and move them to This week. Use the card menu or drag them.
  4. Start at most two things at a time. When Doing goes over two, the column turns red as a reminder to finish something first.
  5. Move finished cards to Done. At the end of the week, review what finished, then delete or archive old cards by downloading a backup and clearing the column.

Why limit Doing to two?

Starting many tasks at once makes everything feel unfinished. A limit of two leaves room for one main task and one small interruption. The limit is only a warning, so you can go over it on a busy day; the red count simply makes it visible.

Filtering your tasks

Use the search box to find a card by words in its title or description, or filter by label or priority to see, for example, only Health tasks. Filtering only hides cards from view; nothing is deleted.

Saving and backups

Your board is saved in this browser and is not synced to your phone or another computer. Use Export → Backup file to keep a copy, and import that file on another device to continue there as a separate board.

Questions

Can I rename the columns?

Yes. Open a column’s ⋯ menu and choose Rename / WIP limit. You can also add columns, such as Waiting, within the board limits.

Will I get reminders for due dates?

No. Due dates are shown on cards for planning, but HiWhiteboard does not send notifications or connect to calendars.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes, the board works in mobile browsers. Long-press a card’s drag handle to move it, or use the card menu. A phone and a computer keep separate boards unless you move one with a backup file.
