Organize tasks with an online Kanban whiteboard

Plan work as cards moving through columns. HiWhiteboard's free Kanban board runs in your browser with no sign-up: add cards, drag them from To do to Done, and get a warning when a column goes over its work-in-progress limit.

Use the Kanban template
  • Real cards, not drawings
  • Drag, menu, or keyboard moves
  • WIP warnings
  • Undo, filters, export

What the Kanban board does

  • Columns: start with To do, Doing, and Done; add, rename, reorder, or delete columns. Deleting a column that has cards asks whether to move them or delete them.
  • Cards: a required title plus optional description, label, priority, and due date. Open a card to edit it; duplicate or delete it from its menu.
  • Moving cards: drag by the handle on desktop, long-press the handle on touch screens, or use the card menu (Move up, Move down, Move to …). The handle also works with the keyboard.
  • WIP limits: optional per column. Going over the limit shows a warning; it never blocks the move.
  • Search and filters: find cards by text, label, or priority without changing the board.
  • Undo and redo: for card and column changes during the current session.
  • Export: a backup file you can import later, PNG pages that include every card title, or a print view your browser can save as PDF.

Boards follow the board limits and are saved in this browser only.

A task board, not shapes on a canvas

You can draw three columns and some sticky notes on any whiteboard, but those are only pictures of tasks. On HiWhiteboard's Kanban board each card is a record: it knows which column it is in and its position, and it keeps its own title, description, label, priority, and due date.

  • Moving a card changes its status. Drag it, or choose Move to Doing from its menu; undo, saving, search, and exports all use the same data.
  • Counts are real. The WIP warning compares the number of cards in a column with its limit.
  • Exports stay readable. The PNG and print view list every card title, and the backup file restores every field.

Use the whiteboard when you want free-form sketches; use this board when you want to track work. Example: plan a week with the personal Kanban template, or a small project with the Kanban board template.

What it does not do: there are no team members, assignments, comments, notifications, or shared workspaces. One person edits a board in one browser.

What is a Kanban whiteboard?

A Kanban whiteboard organizes work as cards moving through stages such as To do, Doing, and Done. HiWhiteboard’s Kanban tool uses editable cards and columns rather than drawing objects. You can move tasks, set a work-in-progress warning, and save the board locally; it does not synchronize a team workspace.
